Whether you’re a landlubber or an old salt at ocean paddle boarding, this tour will entertain you. Grab a paddleboard and discover one of the hottest ways to see marine life and a subtropical ecosystem up close—all while getting a great workout. Learn proper techniques so you exercise every major muscle group in your body and develop your sense of balance. Then set off for Ibis Preserve, a rookery where a variety of gregarious coastal birds—frigate birds, white and brown pelicans, anhinga and double crested cormorants, to name a few—gather and nest. Further on you can beach your paddleboard and explore the shoreline or cool off in the clear waters off Bear Cut. Then it’s time to paddle back oceanside to catch a glimpse of spotted eagle rays, brittle stars, nurse shark, juvenile reef fish and many more underwater inhabitants.
