The Dynamic Art District of Wynwood by Segway

Cruise your way through Miami’s Wynwood District—once a forsaken area of dilapidated warehouses, rail yards, and depressed real estate but now one of the country’s most vibrant art enclaves. Take a slow ride along streets decorated with vibrant installations, murals, and cutting-edge graffiti. During the tour, learn about the area’s working-class roots, the struggles to find a “place” for local urban artists, and the amazing transformation in the neighborhood championed by a few farsighted individuals. We’ll stop at Wynwood Walls, perceived by the late Tony Goldman, the prominent community visionary. Here you’ll observe some of the most impressive displays of urban art in the nation. Adjacent Wynwood Doors was once an empty lot plagued by illegal dumping. Today, with its boulders, trees, and flowering plants, this location features much smaller-scale works, and it’s an intimate place from which to appreciate the creativity of the vanguard of Miami’s up-and-coming art scene. Your host for the Segway tour will be one of Wynwood’s very own graffiti artists.
