Enjoy a round of golf at the JW Marriott’s 18-hole, championship-style Palm Golf Course set against the towering yet picturesque backdrop of the Santa Rosa Mountains. Both Palm and Valley sister courses are the designs of acclaimed architect Ted Robinson, known as the “king of waterscapes”. Each par-72 layout encompasses more than 6,500 yards. Golfers of all levels are welcome, and foursomes are comprised of fellow Summiteers. Golf cars are included in green fees.

Take your swings at the world-class Desert Springs Tennis Club, with round-robin matches with fellow Summiteers. Among 20 courts (15 hard courts, three clay courts, two grass courts), enjoy a quick pro-led clinic and warmup, followed by doubles and singles play. Your experience onsite at our host resort is best summed up as food meets design. Eric Theiss, the newly appointed Executive Chef of JW Marriott Desert Springs, has concocted a memorable culinary class for HD Summiteers—a feast for the senses. Merging visual artistry and the culinary arts, your afternoon begins with a masterclass in three courses, showcasing appetizer, entrée, and dessert. You will learn by watching expert preparation of each culinary concept, down to techniques for extraordinary plating, such as framework, perception, and impact. Your class includes unparalleled instruction in culinary methods employed, and a tasting menu of each course.

Craft Beer Brewery Experience + Tasting

Visit two premier micro-breweries in the greater Palm Springs area including locally owned Coachella Valley Brewing Company and La Quinta Brewing Company. At each location, you will learn about the micro-brew process, including state-of-the-art technology, as well as beer styles, locally sourced ingredients, and award-winning flavor profiles. You will enjoy the opportunity to taste outstanding craft beers at each brewery, with an expert-led tasting of six to eight beers overall.

Hiking Tour: San Andreas Fault

Explore the captivating desert badlands of the San Andreas Fault zone at the private and exclusive Metate Ranch sanctuary in the Indio Hills. You will be joined by a naturalist guide for an entertaining, engaging, and educational hike through the landscape. Hear stories about the geology, plants, and animals of the San Andreas Fault zone. This one-mile guided hike will lead to expansive views including winding canyons, the Santa Rosa Mountains, and the valley below. Bottled water and granola bars will be provided.
Recommended attire: Hiking boots or closed-toe shoes with good tread (mandatory), comfortable casual clothing, sunscreen, and hat. (Please dress in layers as desert temperatures can change quickly.)
Jeep Tour: San Andreas Fault

Ride along in one of our multi-passenger, open-air, signature Big Red Jeeps to explore the labyrinth of cuts and canyons of the San Andreas Fault zone. Your naturalist driver and guide for this adventure will take you through the history of flora, fauna, and geology of the California desert. Short stops and nature walks allow you to wend through the steep walls of deep canyons created by the powerful forces of plate tectonics, water, wind, and time. Bottled water and granola bars will be provided.
